High visibility for greater safety in the ski resort

Maximum Safety Thanks to Highly Visible Warning Signs

In a well-organized ski resort, safety is the top priority. To best support ski lift operators in securing high-risk areas outside of operating hours, sitour has developed a new slope closure sign that complies with the UNI standard. Thanks to its high visibility, this efficient solution ensures that restrictions on access to slopes and ski trails are clearly visible even in conditions of limited visibility or in the dark.

In the center of the sign is a backlit “Closed” symbol, flanked by flashing lights at all four corners. In addition, various hazard symbols and a customized closure period can be displayed depending on the specific hazard situation. This allows winter sports enthusiasts to see at a glance that a ski run or trail is currently inaccessible.

Standard-compliant safety for long-term use

The new slope closure sign was developed in accordance with the requirements of the “traffic safety obligation for ski runs” and complies with current UNI standards. At the same time, it stands out for its robust construction: UV-resistant materials and high weather resistance ensure reliable performance even under the most demanding conditions of the alpine environment.

This provides ski resorts with a durable safety solution that meets both legal requirements and the practical challenges of day-to-day operations.

Flexible Control for Different Needs

Two control options are available for the slope closure sign. Using the CPS control system, you can manage multiple panels simultaneously, program custom operating schedules, and save operational data. Alternatively, a remote control allows for direct on-site control of individual signs—ideal for locations without a network connection.

Thanks to the flexible control system, the slope closure panel can be optimally adapted to the ski resort’s specific operating procedures.

Proven system signs for wayfinding and safety

For over 60 years, sitour has been supporting cable car companies in Austria with standardized signage for information, wayfinding, and safety . A wide range of system signs makes it possible to provide guests with relevant information in a clear and understandable way, facilitating wayfinding and thus ensuring a safe stay in the ski and hiking area.

The diverse range of signs includes standard-compliant signage for hazardous areas, obligations and prohibitions, rules of conduct, transportation guidelines, and a wealth of additional information. Depending on the application, wall-mounted panels, freestanding panels, and supplementary signs for information and wayfinding systems are available. In this way, sitour helps cable car companies implement safety standards in a visible and clearly understandable manner.
